Our Mission is to resolve animal control issues in our community by educating the public about applicable animal control laws and enforcing those laws as appropriate. Our focus is reuniting pets with their family or placing adoptable pets in forever homes or qualified rescue groups. We will treat all animals with respect and compassion. We will make all decisions by first considering what is the most humane outcome for the animal.

Come Meet our Pets:
Our pets love visitors! Come meet your new furry family member at the Alvin Animal Adoption Center between 10am and 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday.

Dog Food Advisor

dogfoodadvisor.com
The Dog Food Advisor's unbiased dog food reviews and ratings searchable by brand or star rating. Find the best dry, canned or raw food for your dog.
The Dog Food Advisor is published as a public service to help you make better decisions when buying dog food.

Welcome!  My name is Mike Sagman — and I love dogs.

And if you love your dog as much as I love mine, you’d probably like to know a little about me — and why I created this website.
I’m a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia with a doctorate degree in dental surgery.
My undergraduate studies include a major in chemistry and a minor in biology.
Yet none of my education or my more than 35 years in healthcare should be considered a requisite for publishing The Dog Food Advisor.
However, when creating a reference site like this, it does take a genuine love of dogs.

And a real concern for what they eat.
It Takes a Team As you’d expect, it would be impossible for any one person to write and update the hundreds of reviews and articles you’ll find on this website — without the help of others.
Our current team includes two dedicated research assistants, an experienced social media admin as well as one extraordinarily knowledgeable (and generous) veterinarian friend.
Thanks to their collaborative help and after publishing more than 950 reviews representing some 4,100 products, The Advisor has become the Net’s most visited website about dog food.1

How We Do It

The Dog Food Advisor’s approach to evaluating dog food is based upon one important principle:
No food can ever be magically better than the ingredients that were used to make it
That’s why it’s so important for you to know what’s actually in your dog’s food — before you buy it. And the only reliable way we know to do that is to carefully examine the label.

Bay City TX Animal Control

Bay City TX Animal Control Link
The Animal Control Division within the Bay City Police Department is one of the busiest. Animal Control Officers (ACO's) are responsible for the enforcement of all laws and regulations pertaining to the Texas Department of State Health Services ( Zoonosis Control ) and the City of Bay City's city ordinances governing Animal Control. The Animal Control Division works closely with the Bay City-Matagorda County Impound, as well as the Matagorda County Environmental Services.

In addition, ACO's are responsible for investigating:
  • Missing or stolen animals
  • Checking an animal's welfare
  • Public nuisance animals
  • Animal bites
  • Removal of dead animals on city property and
  • Bee calls, just to name a few.

The Animal Control Officers will pickup stray, domestic and wild animals, including reptiles. The Animal Control Division has several live traps that are placed on your property, within the city of Bay City. These traps are used to capture difficult animals. There is a waiting list for these traps and delivered on a first come first served basis. The length of time you may use the trap is largely dependent on the number of citizens requesting one. The average time of use for a trap is about 3 to 5 days. Citizens are responsible for baiting the trap. Citizens are also asked to help transport captured domestic animals to the animal shelter. Wild animals will be relocated by the ACO's.
